🔥 High Performance 50W, 23ft Zoo Med Reptile Heat Cable Review

Good product but I had a very hard time getting the right temperature for my needs. May be suitable for certain applications.

It's getting quite cold in my apartment and my tarantulas are all in separate enclosures. I've tied my smaller t-shirt cases together with heating pads underneath, but I've seen that when it gets particularly cold, it's not enough. This cord is long enough to wrap around the cages and even between them which really helps. It's not hot enough to melt plastic or hurt my little ones. A great solution for me so far!

I didn't buy this item for an animal terrarium, but for brewing beer. I attached it to the inside of the mini fridge I currently use to ferment beer. I first bought this while building items for a large boa display cage I was building. As soon as I read the instructions, I realized that it is not recommended to use it as I intended. I changed plans and installed it but it didn't work at all. I called the company and got a replacement and it really works. Unfortunately, this app just doesn't get as hot as I'd like it to, so I'll probably end up pulling it out to use for something else (little snake stand?). However, this is a good value.

I am using this heating cable in a fridge that I removed to make a fermentation chamber for homebrew. I use an STC-1000 aquarium temperature controller to control the cold side of the temperature and then I use this reptile heating cable to warm things up when the temperature gets too cold at night or in the winter. I, like several other reviewers, bought this as a heating element in the primary fermentation chamber for home brewing. 23 feet is LONG, but I have a full-size fridge and really didn't want to risk not being able to heat the room. Used with Digital Rheostat Jumpstart and bolts under the platforms of Critter Nation's 4-tier ferret cage. Works flawlessly. Purchased on recommendation of a reptile cage manufacturer who insisted it was the best and safest heating option on the market. I really wish it was between the 52 and 23 foot cable I had to buy.
