I'm new to leatherworking and got it working with 9 oz. leather projects. The size is good, the wood is good. Here the pluses end. Disadvantages include clamps - they were bent at the factory as they were pulled over and then closed. They continue to bend even after straightening. The thickness adjustment screws are too small and difficult to adjust. I ended up drilling them to make it easier to turn them with a screwdriver. I ended up making my own sewing horse. Heavy duty, large, durable and practically free as I work as a carpenter during the day I had a lot of reclaimed wood. If you just want to make wallets or something simple, this might suit your needs. The needles that came with it were great and I continue to use them for my work.
