Stepped nozzles are the ideal solution for those who want to create a hole in different materials where there is none. It says it's designed for plastic, aluminum, wood, and insulation board. The beauty of these bits is that they are accurately sized and you get bits of different lengths, which is important if you have a longer or shallower area behind what you're trying to open. I used it to create the hole. in a plastic/rubber grommet for my jeep that was needed to route the cable for my radio system.
