Used on Windstar after mechanical fan upgrade

I have replaced my mechanical fan with a Windstar dual fan. My fans were each drawing about 24 amps at full power. The Bosch relay and 30A ATC fuses overheated and blew. After some research I found out what Ford uses when factory installed. 40A fuse with reinforced relay. The aftermarket fuse box I used couldn't handle the instantaneous power draw at startup and two continuously running fans. I've used this (along with larger relays) and haven't had any heat issues. The large contact area of the fuse allows power consumption. As another reviewer noted (I found out after the fact) the fuse is secured with screw terminals. I checked the mount before installing it. The fuse was fine, but the screw terminals were still missing. I was unable to install the fuse after my wiring was connected and the terminals secured. That screw attachment can be an issue since I installed the holders, but if everything works as it should, I don't have to change fuses very often, if at all. Dirt and debris does not penetrate the locking tab area as firmly as it does with this type of lock when the screws are tightened. For an SUV, it's very profitable. For safety, I use two independent fans. Each fan has its own thermostat and power supply. I can easily combine thermostat switches in the field if one of them fails, and two circuits provide partial operation if a fan motor or circuit fails on coastdown. Currently - 5 stars. The time will show. This will be updated if anything changes.
