Review on πŸ—„οΈ Promark Capacity Extension Drawer with Bearing by Matt Conner

Revainrating 3 out of 5

4 out of 10 were pre-damaged

These are good slides but 4 out of 10 were pre-damaged. Very disappointing. In short, check them carefully when you first unpack them and make sure they are in good condition. As I was unpacking the first one, I happened to notice a very small piece of blue plastic that had fallen out of the box. The second slide I opened had a similar piece of blue plastic at the bottom of the bag. Hmmm. What was that and where did it come from? After a cursory inspection, it turned out that the blue plastic bumper at the end of the slider is designed in such a way that even a moderate impact will break one or both bumper stops (see attached image). Delivery, perhaps during the manufacturing or packaging process, but the end result was that 4 of the 10 slides I received were pre-broken. One of the plastic shavings fell onto the rail and got stuck in the grease, preventing the shutter from opening properly. While these are good slides for the most part, I'm sorry to say that quality control and durability leave a lot to be desired. Another not-so-great point is that they require a decent amount of force to open them the first few inches while opening the mechanism stretches and tensions the return spring. That would be bearable, but they also require a bit more force than is required to close - you have to push to overcome the spring-loaded locking mechanism before it disengages and the drawer retracts. I suspect that older people or people with disabilities might have problems. Opening drawers and possibly some problems closing them. I know most reviewers think these slides are very good (and inexpensive); Unfortunately my overall experience was disappointing. If it weren't for the broken parts and the effort to open it, it would be a great deal.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
