It is very important to read other reviews here and several articles online before purchasing. They will NOT work in every home and you can't tell if they will work in yours until you try them. But when they work - and they usually work - they're great. The only thing I want to emphasize is that the speed you get in practice is NOT EVEN CLOSER to what the manufacturers are touting. Manufacturers have devised a loophole in cruise ship ratings that allows them to greatly exaggerate the speeds you actually achieve. 500 megabits per second? Not even. In practice, you'll get a maximum of 30-40. It's fast enough for the vast majority of home users and fast enough for a single UHD Netflix stream, but if you need higher speeds you MUST hire an electrician to run the ethernet cable physically routed through your walls, certainly not otherwise.
