Review on 🚀 Dorman 977-000 Throttle Position Sensor: Unparalleled Performance for Select Models by Justin Vasquez

I replaced this part on my 2003 GMC 2500HD 6.0L Gas. The first TPS sensor I bought from Revain lasted a year and the second two years. After a lot of research, reading, and talking to mechanics, here's what I found out. When my truck was made the original TPS sensor was of a higher quality than the TPS sensors made today. The ECM mates with the AC Delco upgraded TPS sensor that is factory installed. TPS sensors and throttle bodies are now made in China for Dorman and others, they just aren't of high quality and the contacts in the TPS wear out too quickly and basically fuse together resulting in an abnormal output voltage causing a low power mode. What is needed is a high quality part, manufactured to exacting specifications and metals, such as a genuine AC Delco part that is factory installed. It is believed that NGK will now offer the best of Japan, but three times the price. I'll probably try that next time or scrap the truck. A year has passed and I am happy to report that I have resolved the issue. I've replaced the ECM, accelerator twice, throttle body three times, TPS module and none of it made a difference. I was still getting codes that indicated something was wrong with the throttle position sensor. I replaced the main engine wiring harness and have no more issues, no codes. I've learned that early 2000's harnesses last 10-12 years and are made from soy.
