It wasn't the deal we were hoping for.

Tried to skate and used this as a repair. It worked great. for 3.5 months. Issues a TPS code and calls REP (reduce engine power) until the code is cleared. You cannot drive the car when installed. Then he does it again after 3-5 miles. Replaced a stock/used OEM TB with electronics on the side (2003 Silverado) and the truck runs great. Buy an OEM or even a used OEM from stock and get a whole throttle body. It just seems cheaper or easier until it leaves you somewhere.

Wrong part best in spare parts

The item didn't fit my 2003 GMC Sierra 1500. I screwed it up a bit having already drilled through the rivets when I found out the item was slightly different than the one I pulled out. Outside. I didn't have the nuts and bolts to put it back together. What turned out to be a plus in all of this was that I decided to clean it with WD40 before putting it back together as I had already removed the sensor and my truck hasn't had a REP since. Attached is a picture of what mine looked like insideโ€ฆ

Fixed problem with my Suburban 03

My Suburban was having an issue with intermittent idle fluctuations when turning the A/C on (during a stop). RPM jumped around 350-500 and sometimes the engine stalled. After reading online I removed the throttle body, cleaned it and replaced the throttle position sensor with this Dorman sensor. Now the truck runs so smooth, no more hesitation at idle and throttle response is crisp. A simple note before removing and cleaning or simply replacing the throttle position sensor. I had it about a week and .

It has been working for me for about a week and the engine performance has never dropped since I installed it. I started by just putting on a new harness and that worked for about 2 days and then the REP started again. I took the next step and removed the throttle body, drilled out the rivets, put on the new sensor and screwed in the 4 screws that came with it. Total time for this was maybe 30 minutes and no problem. I've driven my truck a few times on cold mornings and haven't had a singleโ€ฆ

One tenth the price of an OEM dealer repair

Problem solved! I kept getting code P1516 on my 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with a 6.0 liter V8 engine. It can go 6 months with no problems and then it can happen 3 times in a 5 mile trip. It mostly happened when it was cold and I hadn't warmed up the engine. I've had this problem for several years. I didn't want to take it to the dealer as I read about the nightmares of people spending $600 or more to fix it. I wasn't thrilled to buy a $200+ OEM wiring harness. It cost less than $60 and wasโ€ฆ

Replacement procedure

I replaced this part on my 2003 GMC 2500HD 6.0L Gas. The first TPS sensor I bought from Revain lasted a year and the second two years. After a lot of research, reading, and talking to mechanics, here's what I found out. When my truck was made the original TPS sensor was of a higher quality than the TPS sensors made today. The ECM mates with the AC Delco upgraded TPS sensor that is factory installed. TPS sensors and throttle bodies are now made in China for Dorman and others, they just aren't of
