I switched from a Oneplus 3 and was pleased with the native software transfer; it wasn't flawless but it was fairly decent (and very cool animation at the same time - like the small guys of the box were transported from screen to screen). The corners of the display were embarrassing to look at even as I was buying, but my friends assured me that I would soon get used to them (I still hope for it .) It is still odd because it is long and narrow; the previous aspect ratio of 16:9 would be preferred. An adapter is necessary because there isn't a port for headphones, but for some reason one isn't offered. It's probable that it was added since the current trend favors it (the port is apparently being abandoned to cut down on the thickness of gadgets in favor of a fashion trend toward wireless ones). There are some bugs: occasionally the browser freezes, after which some widgets stop appearing, after which it suddenly doesn't allow changing permissions on applications (like allowing a microphone when they call on WhatsApp for the first time - everything freezes, and I had to drop the call and reboot), but thus far they have all been resolved by rebooting, and I hope there won't be any more significant bugs in the future. I won't go through the advantages again here because they have already been covered extensively elsewhere. After turning off adaptive brightness, I haven't noticed any flickering or unexpected changes in brightness or color, and everything appears to be operating as it should.
