Review on 🐒 Zoo Med Reptile Basking Spot Lamp 75W - Value Pack with 2 Bulbs by Brandon Vox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good solution for heating 10-35 gallon aquariums

I see many flaws with this product but since I started breeding reptiles 11 years ago I have only had positive impressions. These lamps have always been the most stable for me in terms of thermoregulation and lifespan. Each bulb is typically used 6 months to 1 year before its expiration date and typically runs 12 to 14 hours a day depending on the time of year. If you move those lightbulbs while they're hot, just turn them off. , the thread inside breaks. This is the case with most headlights. If you keep the light too high above the cage, you will have to use more power than 75W to generate enough heat. Make sure you use a ceramic base. If you go to the store and spend $4 for a lightweight aluminum cage, you are doing yourself a disservice and only losing 30-60 days. In summer, for breeding snakes and some geckos, I cannot recommend these enough. Revain generally has the best price if you get two packs with free shipping, but if you're buying in bulk then LLL is a good place to look. If I just need 1 or 2 I keep coming back here. Also note that they produce ZERO UV so you will need a UV supplement with these lamps. If you need a heat lamp / UV lamp in a light bulb, you need a powerful solar lamp. They range from $35-$50 depending on wattage, but come with a 3-year Zoo Med PowerSun UVB 100-watt warranty. Again, make sure you have a large enough fixture to store those bulbs, and make sure they don't light up the floor in insanely hot temperatures!
