I kept these safety wire cutters in my tool box along with the .032 gauge safety wire spool. Licensed by A&P in June 1979 and active in the airline industry until July 1995. I've used snap-on safety wire pliers for most of my years and my review of this red pliers is based on comparing the two pliers. These pliers are smaller and a curse and a blessing at the same time. The smaller size means they take up less space but also make it more difficult to attach to two or more strands of wire at the same time. These pliers have a spring return on the handle which I found out a long time ago is very useful especially when you are in a hurry. If I went back to industry I would keep these pliers and use them for tight spots and smaller wires like .025 and .032. but certainly not for .041! I would buy another full size napkin tongs. I have no regrets buying these pliers at all and will do it again if I need more. Just keep in mind that they are smaller and less able to handle larger gauge wire. (NOTE: I just edited this review because I realized I misread the dates. I worked in the airline industry until 1995, not 1985 as I originally wrote.)
