Actually I wanted to give the 1 star hole punch a very low rating. Like many others, I couldn't get it to go through the belt or make a hole. But I finally realized I was doing it wrong. Here's what you should do: 1. Press all the way down until you hear metal on metal click. That means you pressed hard enough to make a hole.2. If this doesn't give you a nice clean hole, after punching, rotate the hole punch a little, say in a circle, similar to a can opener.3. It's a good idea to hit from the rough or back side. Therefore when the punch goes through it will come out on a smooth surface and will tend to make a good complete cut smooth all around. Usually you only have to do number 1. Once I figured this out, I could quickly and very easily punch a whole series of holes in multiple belts, whereas before I couldn't even punch a hole in a belt. So the tool works as it should. Why didn't I give 5 stars? Because the instruction I just wrote above should be included. Nowadays there is a tendency for companies that manufacture something not to give you any explanations or instructions**. Normally I would lower the rating to a two or three because of this. But because so many people have unfairly given this thing a 1 or 2 when it's well made for its purpose, and if they just play with it a bit it does exactly what it's supposed to do, I've moved the rating again to 4 stars.** Please, Revain reviewers, start deducting a few points if the seller doesn't provide you with at least a small piece of paper with simple, clear instructions. Make a habit of doing this until the salespeople get their jobs right.
