Review on IRWIN Performance Slotted Screwdriver Cabinet by Devin Girard

Large screwdriver for hard-to-reach places Small pan head screws

As a hobby I repair old ham radios and audio equipment. While the older mechanism is far easier to work with than today's ultra-compact electronic products (many of which are beyond repair altogether), the old mechanism still has its moments. One of the trickiest is the need to get to the tiny screw hidden deep inside the case. Sometimes it is inside the shield or under the layers of wiring. If the screw has a small head, screwing it in and out will be even more difficult. The IRWIN Performance Series Flathead Screwdriver can really help in these situations. First, it has a small head (3mm) which is just right for those small slotted screws. The shaft is almost 4 inches (100mm) long and has a large grip. I really love everything about the IRWIN Performance Series slotted screwdriver except the packaging. It comes in a hard plastic holder (not at all eco-friendly) with a plastic tie that needs to be untied. Of course there are better ways to deliver the product! I do like the IRWIN Performance Series flathead screwdriver though. Now if only I could find its equivalent in a Phillips head!
