[Edit: I was able to run this battery pack. see review.] I bought this based on the specs before anyone had checked. I thought for the price it was worth the experiment. So this is the second review on the product. I was amazed at how thin it is. Think slightly thinner than the rubber part of the micro USB connector. It appears to be three layers. The top appears to be a thin acrylic. The middle is the LED part. The bottom appears to be some sort of sturdy styrofoam/soft plastic with little knobs for the feet (to allow the cable to be plugged in). There is an optional (not included) rounded foot that you can place on top of the light box to create an angle. It doesn't have a clip (which I don't think is necessary). It also has a ruler on two edges. The cord is long enough to let the tower stand on the floor and put the light box on the desk at an angle, but just barely. I tried powering it with a 16,000mah power bank (backup battery). [Edit: I was able to run this from the mentioned power bank with no problem. I didn't let it run long, but it was fine for the time I needed it. It seemed to go quickly the first time. ] I found the on/off function frustrating. It shuts down seemingly randomly. however, turns on when the power button is touched again. The only thing I can think of is that pressing the surface can mimic pressing the power button in some places. (I was careful not to touch the power button.) But that's a matter of touch, which I believe I've got below now. The light is adjustable (up or down) by simply holding your finger on the on/off switch. "The work area is 9 inches by just over 12.5 inches. I used this for two quick projects in full sunlight. I could easily see through Canson 140lb watercolor paper and Strathmore Bristol Vellum 100lb. (300 Series) with no eye strain (assuming three solid hours of use). So heavy paper in full sun. no problem. For those of you who pin your work to a window, this is a serious upgrade. I don't know how reliable it is. It's pretty flexible. If I had to guess, the weak point would be the mico USB connector. Verdict: Inexpensive, acceptably bright Mitsubishi acrylic panel, super thin and light. I don't like being tied to a computer (or possibly an outlet) as a power source. For the price I can live with that. would be the weak point of the mico usb connector. Verdict: Inexpensive, acceptably bright Mitsubishi acrylic panel, super thin and light.
