I bought this because of the size and color combination. The reviews were mostly good, so I took a gamble and bought two of these for a specific part of my kitchen. However, I doubt I would buy one of these again at any price. Pluses: Attractive, low price, colors as pictured , looks decent, thick Minus: leather is a stupid thing to make a rug. I also question the idea that they are "recycled". Does the manufacturer know what recycled means? These carpets smell like animal skin. I think they fall away from other uses of fresh animal skins, mutton or veal. Terrible idea. Recycled should mean that animals were killed some time ago to make the leather product and old products were reprocessed to make a new product. This would be obvious if there was almost no animal meat odor and the product could be washed. It's obviously neither one nor the other. So I think this statement is misleading and should be changed. I find the idea of these carpets repulsive. Can't be washed? Just leave dirt? Are you trying to remove it with a damp sponge? Just shake out? These are not exquisite oriental rugs, but "patch" rugs (in this case animal stripes). I will definitely wash them and if they fall apart they will go away and never come back. Very shocked.
