Now I understand that the new 2005.5 Jetta uses two different fuel filters depending on what time of year the car was produced. I've attached a video of the top of the fuel filter on my car using this particular filter. The Beck Arnley 043-1058 fuel filter was the perfect size. It includes a cap ring and a small spacer for the top center of the stem over which the filter slides into the housing. There was a small aluminum disc in the kit and the original didn't have one so I didn't know what it was for, maybe it needs a different filter housing. I would highly recommend wrapping rags around the body of the canister to catch any spills and demonstratively pulling the filter out slowly and allowing it to drain into the body before removing it completely.
