Review on UGEARS Construction 🧩 Kit: Wooden Puzzle Box by Eric Grayson

I've built many of these models, from insanely complex like the Ugears locomotive to a lightweight deck case, and based my expectations on that experience. The quality of this particular model is on par with most of Ugears' other kits, but this is one that doesn't work very well in practice. Everything about my finished build worked very well until I got to the spinboxes section. . The simple fact that the drawers have to be rotated by 2 very small hinges that move very little throughout the opening/closing process makes it almost impossible for mechanics to apply enough force to these parts. Also, these joints aren't gears, so they don't fit well and have to overcome a lot of friction. I've been opening and closing the box for about a week and it doesn't open and close any better without help. It looks great as part of a shelf. As a functional part of memory, this is somewhat useless.
