UPDATE: I've replaced the teflon gasket with a Bowden M6 coupler and strain relief tube. The nut that secures the gasket to the dryer is compatible with an M6 coupler for easy installation. Works perfectly. This dryer uses convection heating in combination with a desiccant to effectively dry spools of filament. There are no desiccant packs included, but unless you use a desiccant and efficient circulation with a fan, you won't get good results. Don't be fooled by reviews written by idiots. Note: If you fill the case to the brim with filament as shown in the product images, the fan will be completely blocked and cannot disperse the heat by convection. You can feel it yourself; During the cycle, the top of the coil is cold and the bottom is hot. I recommend drying only two smaller coils or one large one, leaving the space in front of the fan to allow it to do its job. No, you can't just cheat and spin them in the middle of a loop. My device's fan is very quiet and distributes the heat well throughout the case. Convection extracts heat from the filament, and if you leave a small gap in the hood early in the cycle, the escaping hot air will pull most of the moisture out of the fuselage. Add desiccant packs towards the end of the cycle and seal the hood. The desiccant packs reduce the humidity of the case beyond what is possible with simple heating. A sealed and dry body actively sucks the residual moisture out of the thread. If you want your filament to be really dry when you print with it, then this method is the only one that actively sucks out the moisture trapped in it. a thread. No heat alone creates the necessary dryness; Dehumidifier, convection heat and time is the only way to effectively suck out the remaining moisture. It may seem tedious, but if you use a suboptimal technique, you can only expect suboptimal results. I've only been using this device for a few days, but it seems to be well designed and feels good. It has a responsive interface that isn't too bright or noisy. Time will tell if it holds up. I wish they had made the case's silicone gasket a little thicker to create more positive pressure.
