There are no instructions with the kit so I had to check everything (calibration etc.) myself. I bought this mat hoping to expand my canvas as printing registration marks really limits your workspace. Unfortunately the pixscan is not as accurate as I had hoped. It deviates by 23 mm, especially towards the very end of the mat. Maybe it's because my rug arrived bent. I have since printed my registration marks again as they are even more accurate. This is definitely great for using your scrapbook or importing 12 separate large floating pieces, but not accurate enough for print and cut projects where multiple objects are lined up in your paper as a tiny offset means the whole page will fall off and you will collide with other objects. It also lost its stickiness fairly quickly compared to regular carpet.
