There were all the cables - computer components

plug and play. Worked right away after I plugged it in and Windows installed the necessary drivers. Small and light. It comes with a USB cable that plugs into a USB Type A or Type C port on your computer. It's great in this transitional period where some computers are just Type A (rectangle) and others are a combination of Type A and Type C (diamond shape). It also has a second USB cable in case the computer doesn't provide enough power through the first USB cable. I installed several programs from it but didn't play any videos because I don't have any video software. The manual now recommends PowerDVD 12 - 19 or 20, but there are free alternatives. Added June 11 - Installed Corel Win DVD (less $ than Power DVD) and plays DVD movies successfully. I couldn't play Blu-ray movies and got region code error from WinDVD. I need AnyDVD (another $100) or free ripping software. It's downright tedious to buy hardware and then be an IT pro to get it up and running. I wish these things came bundled with software like internal drives do. Maybe they are and I just didn't know enough to find it. I received a beautiful suitcase from Revain in the same order and I am ready to travel.
