My 2 stroke Mantis tiller (2 years old) has never worked properly from day one. The beginning was always very difficult. By the end of his sophomore year, he was no longer working at all. Tried to clean everything including the carburetor. Hi and low injectors with a carburetor. cleaners etc. It still doesn't start. Very frustrating. Eventually I gave in and ordered a Zama replacement carburetor. This is the same model the Mantis originally came with and the replacement was easy to install (along with new hoses and filters). About 15 minutes after igniting, I made one puff, yes, just one, and the engine came alive. Worked great both at idle and full throttle. The first day I worked about 2 hours, the next day the same and the cultivator worked perfectly and started very easily. I suspect the original factory carburetor was defective but this replacement is excellent. Working with the tiller is now a pleasure!
