I was looking for a new external Blu-ray drive. I had this model in mind because it resembles the one I replaced. The price paid was less than $130 excluding tax and shipping. I've had a lot of practice with this drive copying my DVDs and it's worked great. One of my personal tips is that if your computer system has a built-in optical drive, I would recommend getting an external drive for copying and other hard drive needs. If something goes wrong with an optical drive, replacing it is easier than taking your computer to a repair shop. Use the internal optical drive for software installation only. This drive does not have a power button but is powered by USB. When the system is on, the drive will turn on when plugged into any USB port.
