I thought the locking cap would be an upgrade but in the winter it was bulky and annoying. The key has to fit into a small recess next to the keyhole cover *for no reason*, and there's no indication of which way the teeth of the key should be pointing. Since there is no "leash" on the lid, I also awkwardly held it by the pump with all my keys dangling from it. Finally, when replacing the cap, the "click" was very clear, plastic. It always seemed to me that I was doing something wrong or that it was going to break. All of this might have been forgiven if my machine's computer hadn't been throwing out the evap code the whole time. This eliminates the annoying remote start in winter. I replaced this cover with an OEM replacement (General Motors 95049576, here at Revain) and after one ride the trouble code was gone. Also, the aforementioned "click" feels just right compared to this Stant cap, and the leash fits into the loop just like it should. Heed Scotty Kilmer's advice: don't skimp on the gas cap. Buy a factory cover and replace it about every two years, just like any other rubber seal essential to your vehicle's operation.
