First let me say I filled this base with sand and water. This is recommended for maximum stability. It took some time and effort to do this. Then when I saw the hole was too big even with the adapter I stuffed pieces of wood around it to make it snug. Looks like crap but it worked to hold the umbrella. I really need the shade or I would send it back even though I would have to dump all the sand and water out to do that. What a mess! And what’s worse is the whole thing blew over in the wind. I checked my app and it said 19 mph winds where I live, I don’t know if that’s considered a high wind but it didn’t feel like it. I’m so pissed because it was very late getting here, doesn’t work and I could have gone to Home Depot and got something better.
