For years I used a glass vase that worked but didn't go well with the other bamboo kitchen utensils. I have a lot of bamboo in my kitchen so I decided to find a suitable dish rack. I was looking around and came across this one. We have a few Lipper International products and they have mostly had good success so I decided to give this one a try and it looked exactly how I wanted it. This bamboo kitchen tool holder is made of bamboo and is environmentally friendly. It is made in China and measures 6 1/4" tall at the front, nearly 8" tall at the back, 5 3/8" in diameter, and has 3/8" thick edges. Cleaning instructions say to wash with mild soap and cold water. Do not immerse it in water and be sure to dry it thoroughly to keep it in good condition. I use mineral oil on all my bamboo accessories when they start to look dry and it helps keep them looking fresh. As soon as we received it I smeared it with mineral oil to make it look nice. We've had it for almost five months now and it's working great! It fits perfectly next to the stove and holds a lot of utensils. I have several wooden spoons, a ladle, a whisk, tongs and another large spoon and they all go together perfectly. I have room for one or two more pieces of crockery if they aren't too big. I wouldn't fill this holder all the way because it would be difficult to get the utensils out, but I would say it should hold about eight utensils, more or less depending on the size. It's still in great shape and I haven't had to add mineral oil yet! If you are looking for a bamboo coaster, I highly recommend it! Very nicely made, looks nice, holds a lot of dishes. I love the look of bamboo in our kitchen and I'm glad I found it!
