Bought these before visiting AirBnb in Utah with family for a few days. Upon entering the apartment, it was discovered that the detectors were missing batteries. Likewise . . . a "warning" that "the fireplace hasn't been working properly recently" i.e. it has been "turned off". Who wants to spend the first few hours of a holiday arguing with the owner about what should have been done before we arrived? I always take them with me when I travel. . . and I had 4 of these in my carry-on (because they contain batteries) along with my locks (prevents anyone with keys from entering the house while you're inside) and my bed bug detectors. Activated it upon arrival and slept peacefully. 7 days to remember our trip. SO easy to get started. . . Just slide the back panel into position and you're done. . . The green light flashes intermittently during operation. Now they are part of a safe arsenal when traveling. NEVER risk your family's life when traveling. And NEVER assume that the owners of the accommodation you are staying in are doing the right thing. . . when you all die . . it is counted as an accident. YOU will all be DEAD and they will get on with their lives. ___________________________ Update 05/23/19: During a construction project in the attic, the detector of our house was triggered. House detectors have no reading levels. . . So I took these roadies and installed them. . . one in the attic and one in the house. There were 144 in the attic and 58 in the house. All workers were immediately evacuated from the site and set out to find out what had happened. I wanted to determine location by placing these readers in different places to set different readings. Once the area has been discovered and secured. . . Install them in the attic and back home to check readings every hour. Levels to 51 of 147 in the attic within 2 hours. I will NEVER be in my reading house without her if a problem arises. Creepy to say the least. . . But it was great to have them for accurate measurements and wait for a trained professional to show up with their "official" reader for confirmation. Buy 2 more as backups.
