I used this to vacuum some sunken food and some mold/fungus from my 10 gallon. I got most of it, but it absorbs a lot of water. I think it would be better if it sucked up less water and more dirt. I might have gotten the size wrong though. Another problem is that when I was using it the hose in the bucket started popping out of the bucket, I didn't notice for a few seconds until my socks got wet. I kept putting it back in the bucket but it kept clicking. I've seen some of them with hose clamps, I don't think this one came with them. It definitely seems to help. But in the end I was reasonably happy with it. I think I will use it for partial water changes. And next time maybe try securing the hose.
