Looks like it really is an f1.4 lens

This lens is cheap and that means problems. Most importantly, from my observations, this is not an f1.2 lens. It really is an f 1.4 lens and that's what counts. I took a series of test photos, switched to 1 stop and watched the shutter speed change. From f16 to f2, each stop changed the shutter speed by a factor of 2, but I had to go from f1.2 to a point on the dial from f1.2 according to my camera meter. (Fuji X-Pro1) This process was also slow due to the lack of tactile feedback on the membrane. The levels are next to f16 and f8 next to f16 and f11 is missing making it difficult to set a level. The next problem is that I bought a 43mm UV filter (Tiffen) to protect the lens, but it doesn't fit. It looks like the filter thread is non-standard or too big. The filter seems to catch the threads at the beginning but never stops spinning as if the threads may not have been cut as much as they should. Problem. Difficult choice in keeping this lens. This is really disappointing.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Not the best
