Review on πŸ’» Enhanced PCI-E 3.0 X4 to U.2 SFF-8639 NvMe SSD Cable by Chris Lujan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This cable works great!. IF you can and should solve a serious problem.

As stated by a previous reviewer, this cable will NOT work natively on some motherboards/power supplies. If the board has a separate 3.3V auxiliary rail and the power supply cable has a 3.3V main rail, you could run into problems. If you have a decent motherboard and power supply, you probably can't turn on the power. In the worst case you close the two busses together, which isn't a problem on some boards since they're shared anyway, but in my case on my Super Micro board they were separate busses. The easiest fix is to cut the 3.3 aux cable (orange) on the green board, or better yet, cut the 3.3 aux lane on the PCIe riser (which I did). Anyone who dares to buy this cable should just keep that in mind. For the price and a small mod, that's a pretty good deal.

Cons
