Work like they should, just make sure you have SATA power.

Use for fast server disk storage, I wish I had a way of deciding how to use a rackmount server with hot swappable power supplies. The rackmount servers we use don't have an easy way to put SATA power on the cables, they would be amazing if SATA power wasn't required. Run 4 from a Slot! As long as the slot supports bifurcation.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Exchange availability

As stated by a previous reviewer, this cable will NOT work natively on some motherboards/power supplies. If the board has a separate 3.3V auxiliary rail and the power supply cable has a 3.3V main rail, you could run into problems. If you have a decent motherboard and power supply, you probably can't turn on the power. In the worst case you close the two busses together, which isn't a problem on some boards since they're shared anyway, but in my case on my Super Micro board they were separate…

When I started disassembling one of my old Intel machines I knew I was going to have some problems with my Seagate Nytro U.2 drive. You see, my old motherboard had multiple SATA Express connectors and I used a U.2 drive patch cord. On the other hand, my newer X570 motherboard had 3 M.2 NVMe slots but no SATA Express. Hm. I was considering my options. M.2 to U.2 adapter + cable (fu), the PCIe card you mount the U.2 drive to (better), and finally the DiLiVing PCI-E 3.0 X4 to SFF-8639 -Cable. PCI…
