I've used this as a salad bowl (fill with veg, pick up, stick head out the back door and twirl my hand to flush water out of the veg). I love that it folds flat unlike the big plastic items they sell. But the old-fashioned French strainer baskets I knew were made of more durable material. This thing is lightweight and doesn't hold up either literally or figuratively. The little legs just snap when you put something through them and as long as they are held flat they deform easily and the thin wires will break soon I'm sure.
