These pill cutters are easy to load and unload. The pills slide right into place and the hinge-side opening to empty it makes the whole process easy.I learned that it works best when laid flat. When I tried to tilt the hinge side down, so the pill would stay seated, it sometimes crushed part of the pill.I've been using them for several months and they are still solid like they were when I bought them.It's nice to have two. I keep one in my travel bag so I'll always have one when I'm away from home.The only down side is it always splits the pill with one side a little larger than the other.
