Perfect parts for making glass bottles

so I wanted to post this right after I made it so I don't forget it later. Let me give you a little background about myself: I don't use any tools. Period. BUT as a bored college student who only goes to school two days a week and has too much homework to actually get a job, I wanted a hobby, so I turned to Pinterest for inspiration. I got this to make a glass bottle lamp. I've watched a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of blogs with instructions on these drills and also read a lot of reviews here so I had a pretty good idea of how to use these drills. A little nervous about getting started with the bottle I actually wanted to turn into a lamp, I used a small brown glass bottle as a practice bottle. I placed the paint tap where I wanted the hole and placed the bit at an angle. It took a few times for the bit to catch on the glass, but once it did, the cutting didn't take long! I straightened the drill and made circular motions with the drill as it drilled through the glass to help it move forward. I applied very little pressure. Every ten seconds (actually I was counting to ten in my head) I would stop and water the hole with some water (I suggest doing it outside as I did) and then proceed to drill. A full minute later where I had planned, a beautiful hole formed! Confident that I could pull it off I did the same with the Jack Daniels bottle and sure enough (using the biggest drill this time - I used the smallest drill on the brown bottle in case it went bad) there was the perfect little hole! From what I've read I understand that you MUST use water to avoid ruining those bits or glass so make sure to use water while making holes. Overall these beats arrived in record time, worked great and will definitely be using them again!
