Review on πŸ”§ Sealant Caulking for Bathrooms and Kitchens: Outus - A Reliable Choice by Tony Wylie

Suitable for caulking guns

I'm one of those people who in the past have always used their fingers to smooth out grout. As with most laypeople, the results are always satisfactory, but not as pleasant as one would like. So this time, before re-caulking the shower, I started watching YouTube videos as a refresher. I noticed using "silicone caulking tools" and liked the results they seem to produce. What I wanted was the Fugi kit, but it didn't justify the cost of a job. I first settled on a kit that I thought would give me more options which was the 4 piece Hotop Sealant Tool Kit. The flaw here is that none of the angles are 90 degrees. I'm sure a more experienced person could work with these tools, but I wanted something sturdier with parts that had 90 degree angles that I just had to pull along the joint. This product was my next purchase. This gave me the 90 degree angles I wanted and the seam sizes I needed (e.g. 10, 8, 5). The details provided me with good, clean connections. I had to redo a few, but it's no problem if you're done before the seal starts to set. Much better result compared to using my finger. Also, the silicone instruments wore slightly between hits. I used a new tube of GE 100% Silicone 2+ Non-Stainable Sealant that was smooth enough and I had no problems with tool sanding marks. The 90 degree angles help reduce cleaning effort around the joint. The only potential downside I can think of is the longevity of the tool's silicone edges, which wear down with use. However, for my only job, they were perfect and cost $6. Much luck!

Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other pickaxes
