Review on Conversions Technology CT HDTCP IP Extender by Jason Ballard

Is working. But it requires some networking experience to work well.

The device works, but I had some problems. The direct connection between the devices works perfectly. However, when running devices across the network, I noticed a lot of multicast/broadcast traffic. This traffic was overloading my network and causing a drastic drop in overall network speed, and my wireless network was intermittent/extremely slow. However, I was able to fix this by configuring VLANs and "IGMP snooping" on my network switches (NETGEAR ProSAFE JGS516PE 16-Port Gigabit PoE Plus Rack Switch with 8 85W PoE Ports (JGS516PE- 100NAS) and NETGEAR ProSAFE GS105PE 5-Port Gigabit Plus Switch with PoE (PD) Support and PoE Pass-Through (GS105PE-10000S) 1.) First login to your switch and configure VLANs: vlan). 3.) Remove the ports connected to the HDMI sink/transmitter from vlan1.4.) Create a new VLAN (I used VLAN2) and add a port connected to the HDMI sink/transmitter HDMI transmitter connected, and an uplink port (or a port connected to another). HDMI receiver/transmitter). 5.) Enable IGMP snooping on VLAN1. .6.) Do the same as above for another switch in your network (if any). This fixed it for me. I now have a super fast wired/wireless network again and an HDMI connection to the TV over TCP/IP.

Pros
  • CAT5e/6 cable conforms to the IEEE 568B standard
Cons
  • Nothing
