I installed this unit on a 2002 Silverado with a 4.8 liter V8 Vortec petrol engine and I have to say that it really makes a difference on cold starts. Outside. I live in the Midwest and we had a couple of single digit days with temps in -25+ last winter and the truck definitely seemed to tip over faster. I know for a fact that warmer oil and a warmer block will help reduce engine wear. The heater is probably as powerful as it gets for such a small unit, but it would be nice to have it a bit more powerful, but it does get hot! Don't ask me how I know that😂. Very good buy, no regrets!
