Original review as written below. Very disappointed with last vintage of this shirt, will not buy again. The ones I bought around 2010 lasted a while. In fact, I still wear it fairly regularly. The rest has since deteriorated, but only after years of almost weekly wear. THESE shirts were worth what I paid for them. I bought another one in mid-2016. Sizing was a bit off but it still fit perfectly. This shirt lasted about a year before showing signs of wear; and about a year and a half before they could only be worn in everyday life or on vacation. Now it's almost impossible to wear - and has worn out less often than the 2010 versions. The other shirt I bought in 2017 was never meant to be worn - the size was too small (same size as the 2016 shirt) and that Side label was very uncomfortable even after trimming and then cutting. My original 4 star rating is now a 2. And even that is generous. ======= By regular wear I mean once a week for up to ten days for each shirt. A little more and it will break sooner. I've had several of these shirts over the years. Although I washed them all on the gentle cycle and since I have them (in a front load washing machine btw) I don't think they will shrink even if you wash them on a normal cycle. Whatever the treatment of the fabric, it seems that it does not wear out even after more than 4 years. That's very good considering I've been buying polo shirts for over 30 years and have never received so much wear and tear from any of them. Perfect? Well, no, not really. First, they are a bit big. It doesn't matter unless you're one of those people who like a little extra room and are in between sizes. You just have to go more or less. Second, there are some minor quality control issues. It's hard to explain, but on 2 shirts (out of about 8 currently) I had an irritation on the inside of the back collar. I never felt the source of the irritation with my fingers, but I always felt it on the back of my neck and that made the shirt unwearable. I was supposed to return the shirts to either the seller or 11/5 but I just put them on the bottom of the closet. Just be aware that 10-15% of t-shirts COULD have problems. Finally, dark shirts are gaining momentum like crazy. Although I buy these shirts now and will never buy RL polo shirts (shrink too much) again, the RLPs I've had haven't picked up that much. Overall it's probably 3.5 with a bulge. for longevity.
