Review on Wera Kraftform Kompakt Ratcheting Screwdriver by Mason Gordon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

In my opinion not up to the skills of Wera.

First of all I want to say that I am working on a collection of tools, all of which are Wera brands. I recommend this brand, I do not recommend this particular tool. I've used ratchet screwdrivers in the past and this wasn't the best I've ever used. The body of the bit is thought through to the smallest detail, but due to the location of this body in the grip, I flex a lot when tightening the screws. I have never accidentally pressed a button on the case. The ratchet has high "resolution" but the directional selector turns too easily. I'm going to unscrew, and then all of a sudden I get a ratchet from hitting the mechanism. The beats are of good quality. They bite well and don't feel light. Personally, I would prefer a screwdriver that has a bit and a shank and a different handle. The bulge where the bits fit into the shank is too big for some of the situations I get into. Where I find it painful is in the wiring in the motor starter or VFD where the screw is countersunk and I can't set the bit deep enough to turn. I'm 6'1" with big hands and this grip is quite bulbous even for me. I had the situation described above the other day and switched to my insulated Wera screwdriver and the grip is much more natural.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • It was possible to choose a newer model
