The chain broke on the van and instead of spending $250 I bought this item and the $15 tool to take the chain apart. It takes some force to engage the locking pin, mainly because it's small. You also need to disassemble the broken parts of the chain and reuse some to make it work. If you're not that mechanistic, this can be a problem. After figuring out how to disassemble the chain, I fixed it in 15 minutes and was back up and running in 30 minutes. Works like new.
