I bought this to replace a portable smart speaker that was having Wi-Fi connection issues around the house. So far I'm very happy with the sound quality and battery life. I've used it at home and in the garden, playing with the kids, doing housework or in the shower. Produces very decent full-spectrum sound in all of these environments. It's not particularly directional, but definitely sounds better when laid horizontally on a flat surface (allowing the woofers to push air out at each end) and a somewhat noticeable resonant boost when bouncing off a wall in a corner/counter. . I chose it over the Charge 5 as I didn't feel I needed additional features or size for my use, but I would definitely consider both again if I ever decide to add other smart speakers around the house substitute.
