Ideal for squeezing water out of vegetables and suitable for large quantities of salad. I like the handle and spout for easy pouring of liquids. You have to hold the lid with your hand when turning it, and there's no rubber base to prevent the unit from sliding on the counter during use. Because of this, I hug the bowl and hold the lid with one hand while turning the rotating mechanism with the other. The rotating mechanism sometimes makes a loud squeak during use, but that doesn't bother you since it's a very fast process. I bought this because in the past I've had other spinners with clear hard acrylic shells that rip at the first drop. The shell on this model is made of softer plastic that's a bit more forgiving in that regard.
