Review on Proto J6064C Ratcheting Micrometer 40 200 Inch by Zachary Benjamin

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The gear broke on the second use, the repair kit I bought broke on the first time. Garbage!

The problem with these proto wrenches is that the head and sprocket are too small and the ratchet sprocket is of poor quality. Bought for work, broke a second time. Recently I took it in for repairs and bought a J6064 repair kit, put on 40 ft lbs (minimum load setting) and it broke the first time I pulled it! A tooth has come loose from the new drive gear. There must be an issue with the quality of hardening on these gears. You are too fragile. Bought a snap-on CDI torque wrench instead. Great quality and I noticed that the head is twice the size of the proto so much more powerful and powerful. I personally would not approach any other Proto torque wrench. Buy CDI, cheaper and better.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Security
