It is a good idea to replace the PCV valve

Replacing the PCV valve and installing an oil trap on the PCV check valve almost eliminated the judder/stutter when starting the petrol engine in my 2010 Prius. .If you don't know if the PCV valve has been replaced in your Prius Gen 3 and you have over 100,000, I would recommend replacing it to avoid a piston ring problem and/or head gasket failure.
