We used the Roku app instead of buying a new remote after my granddaughter broke it. Then we started having all sorts of problems with our Wi-Fi connection. After Time Warner finished with our connections, the Wi-Fi was excellent, but it disabled our Roku 3 so we couldn't connect Roku to Wi-Fi anymore, as the remote app needs to connect to Roku over Wi-Fi We couldn't get Roku back online - it was a vicious cycle. I am delighted with this remote control. It's a lot cheaper than a branded remote and works just as well. I put in 2 AAA batteries and was able to go straight to the Roku setup page and get back online. There is no delay with this remote control. It looks smaller and less massive than the original. The kit did not include a wrist strap or space for headphones. None of them is of great importance and does not violate the terms of the contract. I just need something that works and it does for me. And I really like that the remote doesn't have those quick navigation buttons like the newer versions. It's just a simple remote control that works great with my Roku 3.
