Not recommended. The encryption mechanism works as advertised, once you understand that the decryption key must be entered slowly (it seems that the security mechanism does not allow the code to be entered too quickly). I also don't have any issues with the hard drive's read/write times or data transfer speeds. However, the build quality of the Micro-B USB connector is not acceptable. After less than a year of light use, the drive immediately began to loosen with any movement of even a few inches. After 10 months of use, the drive would randomly shut down during read/write operations, even with the drive and cable fully stationary. This is unacceptable. If normal port equipment had been installed on this device, I would not have had any complaints.
