Very inaccurate Best in Test, Measure & Inspect

This is not my first refractometer. I've had the old one for almost ten years now and use it for honey several times a year. Well, this defractometer is VERY inaccurate. I calibrated with two different types of extra virgin olive oil set at 71.5% Brix (both showed exactly 71.5%) and then tried it with two different types of honey that I measured last year with my old refractometer ( which is now broken). I know they have 17-18% water content. This refractometer reads 15.5% for both honeys after being calibrated for extra virgin olive oil! This is impossible, honey does not happen 15.5%, and even more so not two different! Even when looking at the % water scale, the spacing between the lines is uneven. The gap between 18% and 19% is double that between 22% and 23%. I don't know who made the % water scale but he was probably drunk. In any case, this refractometer is useless in that sense, so I have no choice but to return it.
