I am a full time welder and am looking for a small welder for small houses and small repairs. I have several certificates for stick welding, so I am very familiar with SMAW welding. I liked the idea that it could run on 220v, but so far I've only had 120v at home. This machine had problems with the 6010. Running the 6010 was just as nervous as I was asking my love in high school got lol I was very disappointed reading other reviews that this machine can run 6010 (3/32). On the 6011 (3/32) it worked decently for the most part, but there were many inconsistencies with arc stability. I was annoyed that it didn't even show the correct amperage for 120v. When using the 6011 I initially had a temp of 90 (quite hot on a normal machine but it can work) it ran so cold. The welds were lumpy and it was hard to get started. So I increased it by another 20 amps. Dragging somewhere, but now I've got 110 amps (which is pretty hot for a regular car), it started to work decently, but again very cold welding. Then I figured the machine should only output 150 amps at 120 volts and got nervous so I settled on 155 amps. It ran decently like it was really running 80 amps. I quickly found that this machine was displaying the wrong amperage, which is very schematic in a welding situation. Not really worth buying if you want a small welder that can run on 120v for a small repair.
