This embroidery hoop is very easy to use. It was always difficult to get adequate tension with typical hoops that were tightened with screws, and I was constantly tugging at the fabric. I find it difficult to use Q-Snaps due to handwork problems. With her help I lay the fabric on the plastic part; Squeeze the metal ring and insert one side in. slightly pull the fabric under tension; Then insert the rest of the metal ring, loosen the handles and press it into the plastic. With evenly woven bedding I need to fold it and have 2 layers otherwise it won't hold tension but that's really not a problem and will hold excess fabric. My projects are much more frequent. If you're having trouble pressing against light resistance you might find it difficult to use, but as I said I have issues with my arms and am able to use them very well.
