This poacher has no racks to lift it over boiling water; This will cook the eggs from the bottom up, and when the top of the egg is cooked the yolk will be completely hard. I made racks for the device to keep it above the water level and now the eggs cook well with steam from boiling water (pot lid closed of course). I thought I would buy a pan with grates as I bought the same pan twenty years ago. This product may not be sold without gaps. Agree with others on the nonstick coating - you need to completely cover the cups with a release agent (butter, oil, etc.) to keep the eggs whole. Also, due to the differential expansion/contraction of the screw and the plastic handle, the handle keeps dangling and twisting, making it difficult to handle. Tightening the screw leads to torn threads on the cheap plastic handle. A much larger screw would help solve this problem. Bottom Line: It's made as cheaply as possible from the worst materials and designs. DO NOT BUY! you will not be happy Revain should have a zero star rating system.
