Review on TP-Link Deco Mesh WiFi System (Deco M5) – 5500 sq. ft. Whole Home Coverage, Supports 100+ Devices, WiFi Router/Extender Replacement, Antivirus, 3-pack by Brian Rivera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

TP-Link Deco M5 is the best MESH NETWORK I have ever tried.

I have also tried Asus, Orbi, Google and Eero. I was never completely satisfied until I installed the four node TP-Link M5 Mesh! Wow what a difference. My house isn't huge, it's 1.5 stories with dormer windows, built in the 40's with slatted frame + plaster walls and flagstone exterior walls. Getting a signal through floors and a few walls has always been a problem. The Wi-Fi signal output to the front yard (Wi-Fi security cameras and doorbell) or backyard for entertainment or garage to watch OTA DVR on TV (12ft from home) was 70dBm at best. I could only get -65 dBm at 5 feet from the outside wall. I now have four TP-Link M5 nodes. One in the center of the house on the ground floor, another on the second floor, another on the NW wall, and another on the SE wall. Now I get -32dBm to -43dBm signal anywhere in the house and amazing signals outside. -46 dBm at 12 feet from the front wall and -47 dBm at 20 feet from the outer rear wall. If I put another in the garage (receiving a -53dBm signal) I can expect both the garage and up to 40ft of flooding in the pool's backyard. TP-Link Deco is by far the best mesh WiFi. Fi around. I have one node connected via an Ethernet backhaul, two more via a Wi-Fi backhaul, and a fifth that I expect to connect to the garage via an existing TP-Link power line.
